Reviews and Ratings
The hotel provided a cozy stay with lovely rooms despite needing some updates. The service was friendly but somewhat inexperienced. The location was convenient with stunning surroundings. Dining options were varied but had some limitations. Overall, a comfortable and pleasant experience with room for improvement.
The hotel was delightful with spacious rooms, a lovely garden view, and fast WiFi. The service was friendly and welcoming, although checking for cleanliness could be improved. Its location was ideal for exploring the beautiful moors and being close to Plymouth. The dining experience was pleasant with a variety of options, and the facilities were well-maintained.
The hotel has lovely rooms, warm and welcoming service, a beautiful location in parkland, and very nice dining. However, there are some noise issues at times.
Upon check-in, I was given a so-called premier Double room which turned out to be a standard room with very dirty furniture. The large balcony and well-appointed bathroom with bath and shower were comfortable, albeit outdated in a 90's style. The service by the friendly staff was attentive and they were always happy to help, making it a great location just a short drive from Plymouth central. The beautiful location at the edge of the moors had nice big windows, but noise from the boiler pump disturbed our sleep. The dining experience, though good, could have offered more variety, especially for breakfast. The facilities were satisfactory, and overall, the price offered value for money.
The hotel is nestled in large landscaped gardens surrounded by parkland, offering superb views and a lovely feel. The staff are lovely and friendly, matching the quality of service and food. The breakfast is very good, but there are chair issues which should be addressed and a slight inconvenience from a black-tie event nearby.
My stay at the hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but I ended up with a disabled room when I had booked a twin. The decor was a bit tired, yet the room was cozy and had lovely white fluffy towels. The service was a letdown due to neglect in the outside appearance. The location was excellent, on the edge of Dartmoor and easily accessible from Plymouth. The dining options were hit and miss, with some good aspects but room for improvement. Overall, a decent stay with some highlights and drawbacks.
I had a mixed experience at The Moorland Garden Hotel. The location was excellent, with beautiful grounds and easy access to both Plymouth and Dartmoor. The service, although exceptional, seemed a bit rushed at times, leading to some minor oversights. The dining options were decent, but there were some small issues with the breakfast setup. The rooms, although a bit tired looking, provided a clean and comfortable stay.
Despite some rooms needing a refresh, my stay was quite pleasant with welcoming service, lovely gardens, and a cozy dining experience. The hotel is located in a beautiful area with glimpses of Dartmoor, although it could use some upgrades inside.
My stay at this hotel was truly exceptional. The rooms were very spacious and furnished to a good standard, with all the in-room comforts you could wish for. They were spotless and had lovely views, elegantly lit by candlelight and soft lighting, creating a perfect romantic atmosphere. Moreover, our dog was treated like royalty with a special setup including a blanket, bowls, treats, and a towel, making it easy for us to take our furry friend for walks in the nearby field.
The hotel offers comfortable rooms with lovely garden views and ample parking. The service was excellent in a beautiful setting, although some minor maintenance issues were noted. The location is fantastic, surrounded by open moorland close to Tavistock and Plymouth. The dining experience was good but could use more variety. Overall, a pleasant stay with great potential.
